Lincoln Durey Our founder and president has used Linux since 1994

Note: I keep my articles about cool Linux laptop adventures in Lincoln's Logbook (PDFs). These articles stem from postings I have made to our Lincoln's Logbook Mailing List.

The Founder and President of EmperorLinux.com, Dr. Lincoln Douglas Durey, was born a stone's throw from the Alamo on April 28th, one hundred and thirteen years after the debate of his namesakes and had traveled the world when aged just three years.

He was graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Physics from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in 1993. From there he went straight to Tulane University, and asked if he could skip the Masters degree. (Thanks Andrew!) There he found the path to enlightenment with Linux 0.99p3. (Thanks Ken!) He was graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department of Tulane University in 1998. He is the world's foremost expert in Plaid Data Model Fitting (PDMF), which lets you see interesting things in large data sets of all kinds.

He held, concurrent with his Tulane tenure, several research positions at the Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.

Two days after commencement at Tulane he reported to his shiny new Dilbert-job at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) on the campus of Georgia Tech.

Just over a year of pointy-haired bosses was more even than our hero could stand, so he took the summer off (permanent vacation) to get married to the lovely Lady Adriane, and start EmperorLinux.com.

The good doctor is an Eagle Scout (1988), a U.S.Navy Expert Pistol Shot, a PADI certified scuba-diver, an FAA certified Private Pilot (C172, DA-20), a member of HKN, climbs perilous sheer rock faces for fun, and makes better quiche than you do.
