  1. Dec 10th 2009 EmperorLinux Rhino Upgraded to M6500 Series

    The Rhino gets an upgrade! The Dell Precision M6500 series brings up to 2.0 GHz Core i7 Quad Core Extreme processors to the Rhino. Other highlights include full support for up to 16 GB RAM, the highest-performance NVidia 3-D graphics available on a laptop, Blu-ray drive, and fingerprint reader. (Click the Customize System button to see all the latest possible combinations of features on the Rhino.)

    The Rhino M4400, M6400, and E6500 series will remain available.

  4. Jul 17th 2009 EmperorLinux Gazelle Upgraded to FW490 Series
    The Gazelle gets an upgrade with the release of Sony's VAIO FW490 series! The Gazelle FW offers a 2.5-2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, a 16.4" WXGA+ screen running X@1600x900, up to 8 GB RAM, a 320 GB hard drive, and a dual layer DVD+/-RW drive.

    The SilverComet gets an upgrade! The Sony VAIO Z series brings a 13.1" 1600x900 display to the SilverComet line. At just over 3 pounds, this laptop offers up to a 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 802.11a/g/n wireless, up to a 500 GB hard drive, and internal dual layer DVD+/-RW. The SilverComet also provides an integrated webcam (supported in Linux) and mobile broadband using its Verizon EVDO cellular data modem.

    The Kiwi (Sony VAIO TT Series) gets an upgrade to the TT2x0 series! At just under 3 pounds, this laptop offers a 1.2-1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 802.11a/g/n wireless, a 160-250 GB hard drive, and internal DVD+/-RW:DL or Blu-ray. The Kiwi continues to provide an integrated webcam (supported in Linux). The Kiwi also offers mobile broadband using its Verizon EVDO cellular data modem.

    EmperorLinux announces 500 GB hard drives are now available on the Rhino M4400 and M6400, Wasp CF-19, and Tarantula CF-30. (We know that you'll still run out of hard drive space eventually.)

  8. Mar 5th 2009 EmperorLinux Announces Support for Integrated WebCams

    EmperorLinux announces support for integrated web cameras in the rugged Ant CF-U1 and Wasp CF-19. Use them to capture still photographs or video on the go, or for video conferencing with applications like GNOME Ekiga.

    The webcams on these tablets join the already supported webcams on the Toucan (T400, T500, and W500), Raptor W700, Raven (X200, X300, and X301) (and Raven X200 tablet), Rhino (E6500, M4400, and M6400), Koala E4300, Tiger E6400, and Caiman E6400ATG.

    EmperorLinux announces the Koala E4200 and E4300. Based on the Dell Latitude E4300, the highly-configurable Koala E4300 offers up to a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to a 250 GB hard drive, up to 8 GB RAM, and a 13.3" LCD at 1280x800. The Koala E4200, based on the Dell Latitude E4200, offers up to a 1.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to a 128 GB solid state drive, up to 5 GB RAM, and a 12.1" LCD at 1280x800.

    EmperorLinux introduces the Tiger E6400. Based on the Dell Latitude E6400, the economical Tiger offers up to 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo processors, up to a 250 GB hard drive, up to 8 GB RAM, a 14.1" LCD at 1440x900, and more.
